Kindergarten

Building on the foundation of Pre-School

Our kindergarten students continue to broaden their skills and learning strategies to include an all-inclusive reading program that incorporates phonemic awareness, phonics, sight-word recognition, vocabulary development, comprehension and guided-reading instruction

Students work on mathematical concepts involving simple number operations. They explore the world of time, money, calendar skills and measurement, ordinal numbers, number patterns, shapes and so much more.

Students participate in a variety of thematic units that promote an understanding of the world around them. These units include (but are not limited to) Community Helpers, Pioneers, Habitats, Space and Plant Life.

Learning centers are available so that the children can explore these themes through art music, drama and large small motor activities.

Students participate in physical education, computer technology, Spanish classes and daily outdoor recess (weather permitting).

Full day Program with a half-day option, Extended Care (before and or after care) available.
